In an effort to combat pet hunger in the Rancho Cordova area, the City's Animal Services has launched the Pet Food Pantry, a new venture designed to offer meals to pets in need. This initiative is a beacon of hope for pet owners facing economic struggles, ensuring that their furry companions are not left to wonder where their next meal will come from. The food pantry is up and running thanks to grants, community donations, and a partnership with the Rancho Cordova Food Locker.
In its first month, the program has managed to distribute an impressive 12,000 meals to pets, according to the official City of Rancho Cordova website. The food locker, located at 10600 Coloma Road, is no stranger to serving the community, already assisting over 4,000 people monthly, from infants, children, adults, to seniors, and now, pets too.
For locals looking to assist in this noble cause, pet food distribution occurs every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the same address. Those who cannot make it in person but wish to contribute can do so by donating directly online. A link to the donation page is provided on the City of Rancho Cordova's official website.
For more information on how to get involved or if you are in need of assistance, reach out to the Neighborhood Services Technician at [email protected], who can guide residents through the services offered by the pantry.
