A bicyclist met a tragic end in Rancho Mirage following a collision with an SUV on the morning of New Year's Day, law enforcement officials have reported. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Drive, triggered an immediate response from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station, whose deputies arrived to find the bicyclist with severe injuries, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Despite the efforts of the emergency responders to save the cyclist's life, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the white SUV implicated in the accident stayed at the location and was cooperative, authorities noted.
