
Yesterday, a structure fire erupted in Harvard Heights at a single-family dwelling on 1146 S Oxford Avenue. The Los Angeles Fire Department was quick to respond, with fire showing upon arrival and additional buildings at risk, according to an official alert from the LAFD. The incident, cataloged as INC#1133, began at approximately 3:57 P.M.
The blaze was met with a rapid and comprehensive response as 48 firefighters converged on the scene to contain the inferno. The burning auto which had extended the fire to the single-family home, ultimately saw the flames eating their way into the attic. Despite the severity, this team achieved a knockdown in 26 minutes, commendably preventing the fire's spread to neighboring homes, according to the LAFD's follow-up report on the knockdown of structure fire INC#1133.
No injuries were reported as a result of the conflagration. Firefighters' efforts ensured the safety of those nearby, safeguarding the adjacent structures from becoming engulfed. Added to the complication, the incident commander seen on the scene, an arson investigator was due to reports suggesting a potential cause of the fire from occupants, fueling an investigation into its origins.
