A late-night surveillance led Citrus Heights police officers to an alleged drug deal at a local gas station parking lot, where a 39-year-old Sacramento man with a history of felony convictions was taken into custody, said the Citrus Heights PD in a recent social media post. According to the Citrus Heights Police Department's Facebook page, the incident occurred shortly after midnight and involved what the officers believed to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction.

Upon approaching the vehicle, a subsequent search uncovered fentanyl, marijuana, and a stolen loaded Beretta 9MM pistol. The man was arrested on the spot and is facing 7 felony charges. It appears that the Citrus Heights officers were just out to properly enforce the law when they stumbled upon this particular criminal exchange.

"Our proactive police officers observed what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction from a vehicle in a gas station parking lot shortly after midnight. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle who was a 39-year-old from Sacramento and had previous felony convictions," the Citrus Heights Police Department's Facebook post explained. The law enforcement unit has taken an assertive stance on drug-related crimes with their hashtag #NotOnOurWatch, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to illegal activities in their jurisdiction.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was swiftly transported to County Jail.
