San Antonio locals can expect a shift in weather patterns this week, with today's partly sunny skies and a high near 65 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. In a break from the prevailing overcast conditions that have marked the region, tonight is predicted to bring areas of fog after 4 am, while the remainder of the night will remain partly cloudy with lows around 48 degrees.
The forecast indicates an end to the calm winds, with a southerly breeze picking up to around 5 mph today; however, Friday morning's patchy fog is expected to dissipate before 9 am, giving way to partly sunny skies and a pleasant high near 68 degrees followed by Friday night's turnout to be mostly cloudy skies and a calm wind with a low nearing 52 degrees.
As the weekend approaches, the weather continues to warm, with Saturday's predictions of mostly cloudy conditions, a high near 72, and a gentle southeast wind that will run south-southeast at 5 to 10 mph in the morning, with potential gusts as high as 20 mph. The increased winds persist into Saturday night, with lows around 62 degrees and gusts that could reach up to 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
A transition is on the horizon for Sunday, as mostly sunny and higher temperatures near 75 are anticipated before the wind changes direction, coming from the south-southwest at 5 to 10 mph before going north in the afternoon and gusts possibly getting as high as 25 mph, leading into a clear Sunday night with a low dipping to about 33 degrees, as the north wind cools things down considerably.
Looking ahead to the beginning of next week, Monday remains sunny with a high near 53 degrees and north winds continuing at 5 to 10 mph, accompanied by gusts that may again rise to 20 mph, setting the stage for Monday night's forecast of mostly clear skies and a low around 30 degrees. The consistent weather continues into Tuesday with mostly sunny skies and a high of roughly 48 degrees, with Tuesday night the clouds return, becoming mostly cloudy, and temperatures drop to nearly 31 degrees; this pattern looks to persist into Wednesday as well, which is likely to be partly sunny with a high temperature in the mid-40s.
