This morning, the Seattle Police Department responded to a burglary incident in the Fremont neighborhood, where suspects executed a smash-and-grab heist using a forklift to break into a bank. As reported by the Seattle Police Department, the crime occurred around 3 a.m. in the 4300 block of Stone Way North.
Upon arrival, police saw three to four suspects making their getaway in separate vehicles after crashing into the bank with the stolen forklift from a nearby construction site. In their haste to escape, while attempting to load a second ATM, one of the vehicles struck a parked car, which resulted in the suspects leaving it behind.
The officers' initial findings indicated significant damage to the bank’s structure and the pilfering of at least one ATM. The Seattle Police have not made any arrests thus far, and they continue to scour for leads.
They urge anyone with information about the incident to contact them at the non-emergency number (206) 625-5011.
