
Chapman Highway in Knox County was reduced to a single lane of travel in both directions at the intersection of E. Hendron Chapel, following a response by Seymour Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) to a fire incident involving a commercial structure and several vehicles. According to a social media post from the Seymour VFD Alerts, the fire was successfully brought under control by the brave personnel working tirelessly on New Year's Eve.

As reported by the Seymour VFD Alerts, while the flames have been quenched, the aftermath required the continued presence of crews to secure the area. The Knoxville Utilities Board was at the scene, tasked with cutting natural gas service as a precautionary measure to ensure further safety, inadvertently causing traffic disruptions spanning hours into the first day of the new year.
