The City of Shoreline aims to make its park facilities more inclusive. To this end, the city has developed the Park Facilities Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan, which aims to identify and remove barriers to access for individuals with disabilities. Shoreline acknowledges its community's diverse needs and seeks public input to ensure the plan reflects genuine user experience and offers practical solutions.
In an open and collaborative effort, city officials have set up an online open house and survey where residents can voice concerns and suggestions about accessibility issues they face within Shoreline parks. This initiative addresses elements that may have previously discouraged their park visits.
According to the City of Shoreline, residents who wonder how they might contribute to improving the park experience for people with disabilities are urged to participate. They can share feedback by visiting the aforementioned Shoreline Parks ADA Survey, available until February 28.
