His most recent post was Chief Deputy Constable for Precinct 4 before his successful run for Constable.

Asher’s educational credentials complement his practical experience; he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Homeland Security from Northcentral University and an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Truckee Meadows Community College. A graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Senior Management Institute for Policing at Harvard University, Asher holds Master, Advanced, Intermediate, and Basic Peace Officer Certificates and a Basic Instructor Proficiency Certificate, Collin County Government reported.

Known for his community involvement, Asher is an active member of Hope Fellowship Church, the FBI National Academy Association, and the North Texas Police Chiefs Association. When he's not protecting and serving, he enjoys outdoor activities like camping, water skiing, hunting, and biking, which he balances with his professional responsibilities. With Steve Asher at the helm, the Precinct 4 Constable's Office at the Sub-Courthouse in Frisco is positioned to experience a new chapter of law enforcement management.
