The Arlington Police Department has recently arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting that transpired in November last year outside a nightclub on Justiss Drive. In a report issued by the Arlington Police Department and accessed from their official news site, it was announced that 28-year-old Luigin Alberto Perez-Millan has been charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the City of Arlington.
The incident in question occurred early on November 17, 2024, when Janderver Urbina-Betancourt, 22, was fatally shot after an altercation in the club's parking lot following a late-night event. The U.S. Marshals Service and Nebraska State Police took Perez-Millan into custody without incident last Saturday. The arrest took place on a highway in Seward County, NE, following a traffic stop.
Investigators have found no prior connection between the suspect and the victim. "Multiple witnesses later came forward with information about the shooting that was consistent with additional physical and digital evidence investigators collected, and helped them identify Mr. Perez-Millan as the suspected shooter," noted the Arlington Police, as per the City of Arlington. The other individual involved in the dispute with Urbina-Betancourt was not injured and later identified Perez-Millan in a photo lineup as the gunman.
Perez-Millan, who is now awaiting extradition back to Texas, is being held at the Seward County Detention Center. While the motivation behind the shooting remains unclear, law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances that led to Urbina-Betancourt's untimely death. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the identity of the deceased following the notification of next of kin, and the Arlington Police continue to welcome any additional information from the public regarding this homicide case.
