On the somber subject of a brutal Seminole County carjacking that ended in tragedy, one suspect is making moves toward accountability. Kevin Ocasio Justiniano is scheduled to plead guilty to several charges in connection with the kidnapping and death of Katherine Aguasvivas, whose lifeless body was found in a torched SUV last year. In a video captured by a driver, the incident showed Aguasvivas's vehicle falling prey to carjackers along Tuskawilla Road in April 2024, as WESH reported.
Amid a troubling series of events, it was discovered that Aguasvivas traveled from South Florida to Seminole County to collect $170,000 for a drug money laundering scheme. As the investigation progressed, authorities uncovered a theft plot within the operation, where members planned to steal the money from Aguasvivas. In addition to Justiniano, three more suspects have been arrested in recent weeks in connection with the scheme: Sonic Torres, Annaliz Colon De Jesus, and Cesar Silva Fernandez. According to WESH, Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma implicated Justiniano as the one who allegedly drove the vehicle during the carjacking.
Digging further into the case, court documents show that Aguasvivas was forcibly taken to Osceola County, where her burning vehicle was later discovered at a construction site. Detailed by ClickOrlando, evidence of twelve spent cartridges was found on the ground, painting a chilling picture of the crime's conclusion.
"Everyone who's watched this has known it’s about drugs and money," Sheriff Dennis Lemma stated, shedding light on the darker undercurrents of drug-related crime. Tied to the case, Jordanish Torres Garcia and Kevin Ocasio Justiniano were implicated in both the robbery and subsequent counting of the stolen $170,000, as reported by ClickOrlando. In an eventual twist, Crespo Hernandez’s girlfriend was arrested after retrieving a cocaine shipment, adding another layer to the extensive criminal investigation.
