An 18-year-old male wanted for attempted murder and aggravated assault was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service in Jackson, Tennessee. Terrecus Hamilton, the suspect in question, was arrested on Tuesday after a brief standoff with deputy marshals and task force officers, according to a press release by the U.S. Marshals.

Following the December 26 shooting at Water Street and Jefferson Street in Bolivar, where a vehicle with four individuals was targeted, the male driver of which was seriously injured, Bolivar police identified Hamilton as the shooter. It was on January 2 when the warrants for his arrest were issued, leading to the mid-January apprehension at a residence on Coach Drive. The U.S. Marshals' Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force, which boasts about 3,000 captures of violent offenders and sexual predators since 2021, included the coordination of multiple agencies in their pursuit of Hamilton.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, a search unveiled two handguns, one reported as stolen, and a shotgun inside the residence where Hamilton was found. Post-arrest, Hamilton was conveyed to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex, and officials placed a hold on the Bolivar jurisdiction. The Jackson Police Department aided the U.S. Marshals by conducting the search operation.
