Seattle's Chinatown-International District was the site of two separate narcotics operations that led to three arrests earlier this month. The first incident occurred on Monday last week when bike officers apprehended two men suspected of conducting drug transactions near 12th Avenue and South King Street. Officers saw the men selling drugs around 11:12 a.m. and found them in possession of fentanyl powder, methamphetamine, cash, and a loaded 9mm handgun in the case of the older man, who was a convicted felon. This led to additional charges of unlawful possession of a firearm along with narcotics possession, according to the Seattle Police Department Blotter.
The second arrest took place on last Saturday after police observed a 56-year-old woman engaging in multiple drug transactions. Officers arrested her after she entered a nearby business. A search following her arrest uncovered fentanyl powder, individually packaged, and $1,288 in cash. She was also booked on narcotics charges.
Both operations were led by the Narcotics Unit. The three suspects were booked into King County Jail, and investigations are ongoing.
