
Two individuals have been placed under arrest by the Metropolitan Police Department following an incident in Navy Yard on New Year's Eve. Delvin Martin, 47, and Kenny Watkins, 57, both residing in Southeast, DC, are charged with assaulting a person using a bottle as a weapon, according to Metropolitan Police Department police report.
The altercation took place on the unit block of M Street, Southeast, around 9:52 p.m. It was Tuesday, December 31, when the suspects approached the victim. After the attack, the victim required hospitalization to treat non-life-threatening injuries, the details of which were outlined in the police release.
Officers, responding promptly to the situation, managed to locate Martin and Watkins, and subsequently placed them under arrest on charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Bottle). The swift apprehension brought a quick close to the incident that marred the community's New Year's Eve celebrations.
The involvement of a bottle in the assault adds a layer of severity to the charges the suspects now face.
