A Winter Haven family lost their home to a fire early this morning. According to FOX13 News, firefighters responded shortly after 5 a.m. to Silver Fox Dr. SE, where flames were seen engulfing the roof.
In an independent event not far from there, six people were also displaced due to a house fire. As they slept, the flames were spotted by a neighbor, who alerted the authorities. According to AOL.com, Winter Haven police arrived on the scene at approximately 5:34 a.m. on 3rd Street Northeast. They were met with the urgent task of rescuing the residents from their slumber, who were blissfully unaware of the danger flickering at their backs.
The fire on Silver Fox Drive SE was battled by firefighters who managed to secure the area and confirm that the residing family was safe. "The family living there was reportedly able to get out safely but they are now displaced because of the fire," noted WTSP.
Back on 3rd Street Northeast, Polk County Fire Rescue quickly acted to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading beyond the back of the house. "Officials said the fire was confined to the back of the home," AOL.com reported. In the wake of both events, the American Red Cross has stepped in to assist the displaced individuals, providing necessary aid and resources. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in either incident.
