If you know someone at the University of Colorado who's the embodiment of dedication and excellence, now's the time to give them their due credit. The University of Colorado Staff Council (UCSC) is on the hunt for nominees for its 2025 Staff Excellence Awards. These awards shine a spotlight on staff members who've not just done their job but have knocked it out of the park.
Nominations are wide open for a diverse crew of employees, classified staff, university staff, research professionals, and professional research assistants from all four CU campuses and the system office. So if you've noticed a colleague exceeding every expectation, throwing them in the ring is a solid move. Yet, before you start writing that glowing recommendation, keep in mind that faculty, temps, student workers, and medical trainees aren't in the running this time around.
Winners won't just get a pat on the back, they'll receive a $250 award, which is set to be handed out during the Staff Excellence Awards event on April 25. Expect to see two winners from each campus and system administration, that's 10 exemplary individuals getting a well-deserved nod for their contributions. And with the deadline for nominations creeping up on Jan. 31, there's no time to drag your feet.
According to CU Connections, winners of the Staff Excellence Awards will be in the know by mid-March. If you're looking to nominate a standout staff member, make sure to do so before the month is out. And remember, it's not just about the extra cash, it's about recognizing the often unsung heroes who help make CU tick.
