Wake County law enforcement, aided by federal agencies, ensnared 17 individuals in a widespread sting operation. The motley collection of agencies including the DEA, US Marshals, and ATF, alongside local police units from Raleigh to Henderson, culminated in arrests and seizures of illegal narcotics and firearms, as reported by CBS 17.
The operation speared individuals across a spectrum of alleged involvement. Those apprehended face myriad charges, with ABC11 noting that Marzavier Richardson, the youngest at age 20, faces 16 counts of trafficking opium or heroin and conspiracy to traffic heroin. Following a search at a home near Jonesville Road, Aaron and Aleshia Walker were taken into custody, with reporters witnessing the seizure of several guns, a fact corroborated by a spokesperson from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office who confirmed that a total of 55 firearms were seized.
Wake County Sheriff Willie Rowe emphasized the sustained commitment of the deputies and investigators, determined to hold repeat offenders accountable and to cleanse the streets of perilous drugs. "This operation is another example of the hard work and dedication of our team. We are thankful for our partnering law enforcement agencies for helping us pursue those who jeopardize the safety of our communities," Rowe asserted, as relayed by ABC11.
Among those seized during the comprehensive operation was Sophia Jeffreys, at 66 years old, charged with selling cocaine and sustaining a drug-related dwelling. Looming over the scene, Chopper 11 caught sight of the law enforcement presence that converged on Hartsfield Drive, where agents were seen transporting evidence bags and numerous firearms from the location. "Our deputies and investigators remain committed to holding repeat offenders accountable and keeping dangerous drugs off our streets," Sheriff Rowe declared, as WRAL reported, affirming the operation's ongoing nature and their determination to staunch the flow of illicit substances within the county.
