Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Wilmington which left a 19-year-old man in critical condition, according to their latest reports.
The incident took place on Wednesday, near East Lea Boulevard and Philadelphia Pike. Troopers who were called to the scene at about 4:29 p.m. found the young man with a gunshot wound and promptly began life-saving efforts. The victim was then transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition, DSP reported.
As part of the preliminary investigation it was uncovered that the victim was on his way to a residence on East Lea Boulevard at the time he was shot. Currently, the assailant remains unidentified as detectives have yet to release a suspect description.
