Apache Junction is calling for local artists to display their works at the city's key facilities. As detailed in a recent city announcement, the community program initiated to showcase local talent at City Hall and the Apache Junction Public Library is now open for new submissions. Artists interested in participating should note that February 10 is the designated date for dropping off artwork at the city hall administration building.
Since November, City Hall and the local library in Apache Junction have been showcasing the creativity of local artists. By displaying artwork at 300 E. Superstition Blvd. and 1177 N. Idaho, the initiative aims to integrate art into daily life throughout the winter months. According to the city's announcement, artists wishing to exhibit their work will have the opportunity to do so between 9-11 a.m. on designated dates, with the space available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This initiative not only focuses on the exhibition but also encourages interaction between artists and the community. Each piece, weighing no more than 25 pounds and equipped with a wire for hanging, will be displayed for public viewing. The program is content-neutral, allowing art of any subject or style to be showcased.
Artists who wish to submit their work must follow the city's guidelines, which include signing a release and indemnification agreement. Those who have displayed their artwork since November are required to pick up their pieces by February 10. For more information or to submit art, contact Beth Kuenstler at (480) 474-5066.
