The Arizona Parents Commission on Drug Education and Prevention is releasing approximately $4 million in grants to support programs that promote caregiver involvement in substance use education and prevention. The funding aims to provide resources to parents and caregivers in Arizona to address and prevent the abuse of alcohol and controlled substances, according to the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family.
Arizona School Districts, Institutions of Higher Education, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, government entities, and Arizona Tribal Nations can apply for an annual grant of up to $200,000, renewable for up to three years. Programs focused on underserved populations or those at risk of foster care system involvement will receive special consideration. Applicants must create a free eCivis account to apply. A virtual pre-application conference is scheduled for March 10. Registration for the conference closes on February 28. More information is available on the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family website.
The grants are funded by the Drug Treatment and Education Fund, which receives 7% of taxes from spirituous liquors and 18% from vinous and malt beverages. Organizations in Arizona can apply until April 4, at 5:00 PM Arizona time. For questions about the grant or application process, contact Shane Richardson at [email protected], as stated by the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family.
