Early this morning, an armed robbery unfolded at a Dunkin Donuts in New Castle, as confirmed by the Delaware State Police. The theft occurred at 4004 North Dupont Highway, prompting a response from law enforcement at 2:32 a.m. As reported by Delaware State Police, a black male suspect engaged in a conversation with a female employee before revealing a firearm and demanding money.
The employee, who faced the threat of violence, complied with the gunman, and an unknown quantity of cash was taken. Following the incident, the suspect fled and, despite efforts by the troopers, he remains at large. The suspect stands roughly 5’8″ tall with a slim build, and while there are no surveillance videos or images available yet, the police are actively investigating.
Delaware State Police Troop 2's Robbery Unit is seeking help from anyone who may have witnessed the event or possesses information that could aid in capturing the suspect. "Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed this incident or has relevant information to contact Detective D. Armstrong at (302) 365-8410," the statement from the Delaware State Police said.
