An investigation is underway in Rosemead following a deputy-involved shooting that led to the death of a female arson suspect. According to CBS Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies were serving a search warrant around 12:30 a.m. in the 8700 block of Scott Street when the shooting occurred during a barricade situation.
The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was declared dead after being transported to a local hospital. Attempts to serve a warrant quickly escalated and deputies found themselves in an overnight standoff that eventually led to the deployment of gunfire. No deputies sustained injuries during the incident, something to quickly note amid the unfolding inquiry. A statement obtained by FOX LA further elaborated that the suspect had barricaded herself in, although the details leading up to the shooting remain scarce.
