Get ready to roll the dice on a new board because CBS News Baltimore reported that the city is getting its own Monopoly edition. Top Trumps USA, which is not tied to the political Trump family, thank you very much, is busy crafting “Monopoly: Baltimore Edition” and asking for community help.
The game will replace the classic Atlantic City squares with spots picked out by Baltimoreans. We're not just talking landmarks here. Think nonprofits, businesses, and anything that screams "Charm City." "Baltimore is such a unique community with a rich history," Tim Barney of Top Trumps told CBS News Baltimore. "We aim to ensure that Monopoly Baltimore Edition is an accurate portrayal of what Baltimore locals and tourists love about this charming city." They're looking for well-established organizations with legacy and credibility that make people think of home.
This isn't your usual Monopoly game, either. Joining the revamped property squares will be city-specific Community Chest and Chance cards, plus uniquely designed Monopoly money. Over at Baltimore Fishbowl, it's suggested we may even see iconic tokens, too, like the crab or the Bromo Seltzer Tower. Replacing the shoe and car might start new family arguments, but at least it'll be over something with more local flair.
When fall 2025 rolls around, expect to see “Monopoly: Baltimore Edition” on shelves and online at Barnes & Noble and Amazon retailers. Top Trumps USA is planning a big game launch and unveiling party that promises to be as splashy as any of their releases.
