Fans anticipating Carl Cox's performance at Detroit's Movement Music Festival will have to wait another year, as the UK DJ has postponed his set to 2026. Citing "scheduling complications," the techno producer broke the news to his followers via an Instagram Story yesterday. "I regret to inform you that due to scheduling complications, my show at Movement has been postponed to 2026," Cox shared. "I promise to make it worth the wait," he assured fans, according to details released by Billboard.
As one door closes, another opens – Movement organizers have swiftly announced that Jeff Mills, a techno legend, will fill Cox's slot. Mills expressed his enthusiasm about playing at the festival, "To be able to play in Detroit is, and has always been, a special kind of magic. It's one of the few places in the world where anything could happen because of a higher premium of music 'sense' most people have," he said in a statement detailed by DJ Mag. The festival is expected to be held at Hart Plaza on May 24-26, featuring a diverse lineup, including Charlotte de Witte, Jamie xx, Sara Landry, and other prominent acts.
Tickets for the event have been on sale, attracting enthusiasts eager to experience Detroit's legacy of electronic music, which Mills is now poised to headline on Saturday, May 24. ClickOnDetroit also noted the modification in the lineup, highlighting the changes to the festival's schedule and providing a link for additional information about the lineup and tickets.
