Another act of quick thinking was Corporal Fowlks', who was given the Lifesaving Award. A statement from the Cedar Hill Police Department reads, "Corporal Fowlks received the Lifesaving Award for his quick actions in administering Narcan to a Fentynal overdose victim." His prompt intervention with the anti-overdose medication Narcan saved a life, underscoring the critical need for such emergency responses.
The third officer, Williams, was awarded the Purple Heart after sustaining severe injuries during a DWI incident. While he was providing aid to a stranded motorist, Officer Williams' patrol unit was hit by an individual driving under the influence. This award is a somber recognition of the risks officers take daily to protect and serve.
