Clark County's courts are taking a snow day, at least for part of it. A surprise bout of bad weather has the Clark County Superior and District Courts battening down the hatches early, as they've announced a premature closure for today, February 13. Citing the need for caution in the face of the icy conditions, both courts have amended their schedules to keep staff and the public out of the winter fray.
The Superior Court will manage to wrap up its morning schedules and is committed to still holding the 1:30 pm first appearance docket, despite the weather. The District Court, on the other hand, isn't taking any chances and chose to quickly close down in-person services for the remainder of the day. This closure extends to the Probation Services Division and the Mabry Community Restitution location, meaning anyone who's got court business will have to hit pause.
An update posted on the Clark County website reads, "Due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution, Clark County Superior and District Courts will be closing early today, Feb. 13." The same update provides a direction for those affected, stating that the District Court website will be updated with information for anyone who is to appear in court this afternoon.
Residents in the Clark County area are advised to stay tuned to the respective court websites for the latest updates on when they can expect to safely reschedule any court-related matters that were intended to be addressed today.
