Howard County police have taken an 18-year-old Columbia resident into custody in connection to a fatal shooting that left one teenager dead and another critically injured. Emmetson Zeah faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, among others, according to a press release from the Howard County Police Department.

Authorities apprehended Zeah after last Saturday's double shooting that unfolded in a parking lot near Lidl on Little Patuxent Parkway. At the scene, police discovered Michael Robertson, 16, with fatal gunshot wounds. The second victim, Blake McCray, 15, was transported in critical condition to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Detectives suggest Zeah may have targeted the two victims, though his motive remains undetermined. In a concerning overlap, Zeah is also accused of a non-contact shooting on Twin Rivers Road earlier in the month, where multiple shots were fired, yet luckily, no one was hit.

New details have emerged, noting that the police recovered a gun and the clothing Zeah allegedly wore during the shooting at his residence. Zeah is currently detained without bail at the Howard County Detention Center, awaiting further legal proceedings.
