Los Angeles residents woke up to dense fog this morning, which the National Weather Service (NWS) expects to linger until 9 AM PST. The advisory covers areas along the Malibu Coast, Los Angeles County Beaches, and the inland coast, including Downtown LA. Motorists should be cautious as "visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog" could significantly disrupt the morning commute, as stated on the NWS website.
The fog is expected to clear eventually, making way for a sunny afternoon with highs nearing 82 degrees. Despite the early morning conditions, the NWS urges drivers to "slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you" to ensure to safely navigate through the reduced visibility. This cautionary advice is crucial during such hazardous driving conditions, according to the advisory.
Looking ahead, the forecast promises a mostly clear evening with a low around 59 degrees and a northeast wind blowing at 5 to 15 mph. Thursday invites a mostly sunny day with a high near 84, followed by a partly cloudy night and a dip in temperature to around 52. For more detailed information on the week's weather, Los Angeles residents can visit the NWS forecast page.
Toward the weekend, Friday's forecast predicts mostly sunny skies with a rise in temperature to near 68 degrees. The steady south-southwest wind will blow in at 5 to 10 mph in the morning. However, the NWS warns there's a slight chance of rain starting Saturday night, increasing the likelihood of precipitation as we head into Sunday and the start of next week.
