The Los Angeles area awoke to a dense fog advisory this morning, with the National Weather Service urging caution on the roads until 9 AM PST. The advisory was specifically issued for the Los Angeles County Beaches, Los Angeles County Inland Coast, including Downtown Los Angeles, Palos Verdes Hills, Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches, Santa Barbara County Inland Central Coast, and Santa Ynez Valley. According to the NWS Dense Fog Advisory, the fog will create visibility issues of a quarter mile or less.
Vehicular travel in affected areas is expected to be hazardous due to the low visibility, with the dense fog enveloping the region potentially leading to delays or accidents. "If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you," warned the NWS Dense Fog Advisory. Despite the sluggish start, the fog is predicted to lift by late morning, paving the way for cloud cover to give in to gradual clearing skies and a high temperature near 75 degrees in the Los Angeles area.
The weather pattern is set to improve over the following days, with clear nights and sunny days forecasted through the weekend and into next week. Highlights from the extended forecast include a sunny Friday with a high near 79, a high near 82 on Sunday, and continued sunshine on Monday with a high near 79, as detailed by the National Weather Service.
Los Angeles residents can look forward to a stretch of agreeable weather post-fog, with nightly lows hovering around the lower 50s in most parts of the region and climbing to nocturnal readings around 57 by Tuesday night. "Clear, with a low around 51," tonight will provide a crisp backdrop to the stars over Los Angeles, with winds remaining mild, the extended forecast from the National Weather Service indicated.
