Duncanville's Parks and Recreation Department has announced opening a Warming Center within the recreation Center to provide shelter from the biting cold. This initiative, highlighted in a recent post on the Duncanville Police Department's Facebook page, is a timely response to the urgent needs of residents braving the season's chill.
The Warming Center at 201 James Collins Blvd., Duncanville, TX, will be open Wednesday through Friday and accessible to the public between 6:30 AM and 9 PM. This move reflects the city’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its inhabitants during extreme weather conditions.
As detailed by the Duncanville Police Department, the center invites individuals to bring their necessities, including phone chargers, water, and food. However, the center casually notes that the usual membership fees will be conspicuously absent during this period.
Residents are encouraged to use the center’s facilities to stay warm, connected, and safe as winter grips Texas.
