Orange County Fire Rescue managed to extinguish the fire within approximately 15 minutes – an endeavor described by Chief Bryant Smith as "an aggressive fire attack." Despite their efforts, the homeowner's husband and father-in-law, along with one other individual, were hospitalized. One treated for minor burns, the others for smoke inhalation. In a statement reported by ClickOrlando, the homeowner mourned several cats lost to the inferno, an event witnessed by neighbors who recounted the rapid escalation of the fire, one describing the sudden appearance of an "orange ball" through her back window.
The intensity of the fire was such that it caused the home's roof to collapse, picturesquely captured in images of large flames and heavy smoke by WFTV, who arrived while the blaze continued. Concurrent reporting by Channel 9 indicated the presence of multiple firefighting crews working to control the situation during the early hours of the morning.
