A new restaurant concept called Kabab Avesta is angling for a spot in Alafaya Village, the busy East Orlando retail center at the corner of East Colonial Drive and North Alafaya Trail. Plan review paperwork submitted by Kabab Avesta LLC shows the business is eyeing a restaurant at 11750 East Colonial Drive, though the business has released few other details about what it will actually serve or when it will open.
According to WhatNow, the outlet reached out to owner Mohammad Moini for comment on the restaurant's opening plans and menu offerings, but Moini was not immediately available. The report also refers to Kabab Avesta LLC.
If it lands at Alafaya Village, Kabab Avesta would join an existing dining lineup at the center that includes Hungry Crab Juicy Seafood & Bar, Hungry Howie's, and Viet Nomz, per the same WhatNow report. Property listings from Regency Centers show Unit 14 at the plaza, addressed at 11790 East Colonial Drive, offers 1,420 square feet of restaurant space.
A Retail Center Built for Growth
Alafaya Village itself spans 39,131 square feet at the southwest corner of East Colonial Drive and North Alafaya Trail, according to property database PropertyShark. Its site plan, per Regency Centers, also includes Vietnamese spot Viet-Nomz, King Bao, Archie's Cafe, Hungry Howie's Pizza, and Hungry Crab Seafood, giving the plaza a fast-casual, diverse food mix aimed at the surrounding neighborhood.
The University of Central Florida's main campus is home to 70,674 students as of fall 2025, according to data cited on Wikipedia. The corridor has also been adding residential density fast: in July 2024, the Orange County Board of Commissioners approved three new student housing complexes near UCF that are expected to add more than 3,600 student beds near the East Colonial Drive intersection, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.

The address also has another business beyond a prospective restaurant: 11750 East Colonial Drive, Suite 100, is home to Sanitas Medical Center.
