Benjamin R. Johnson, 29, is back in custody after escaping from the Roane County Detention Facility on Saturday. According to WVLT, Johnson scaled the recreation yard fence before injuring himself on the razor wire at the top. The Roane County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Johnson has been recaptured and that charges are pending.

A multi-agency effort, including K-9 units and a drone, led to Johnson's capture in a wooded area near Kingston. He was found and contained by deputies shortly after 1 p.m. Roane County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook, "We'd like to thank the Kingston Police Dept., Tennessee Highway Patrol, Rockwood Police Dept., and the citizens who called in to report his efforts to flee. Excellent work all involved," as reported by WATE.

WBIR shared images of the inmate being transported back by the Kingston Police Department, though the Roane County Sheriff's Office made the arrest. Tim Phillips, the chief deputy of the Roane County Sheriff's Office, confirmed Johnson’s recapture around 2:15 p.m.

Johnson had been in custody since October 2 on several drug and firearm charges, according to WVLT.
