Greg Kryzer has officially been appointed as the new County Administrator of Wright County, stepping up from his previous role as Interim County Administrator, a position he has held since August 2024. The Wright County Board of Commissioners confirmed Kryzer's appointment during their meeting on Tuesday, as detailed in a press release shared by the county. Having served more than 14 years in the Wright County Attorney’s Office, with his tenure including the role of Chief Attorney in the Civil Division, Kryzer brings a substantial legal background to his new position.
His predecessor in the administrative seat and County Board Chair, Darek Vetsch, commented on Kryzer's commitment and capabilities. "Greg has worked closely with the county commissioners for the last decade," Vetsch said. "As an attorney, Greg has provided his legal expertise to the board in an advisory role. Many commissioners over the years have worked with Greg and have come to rely on his professional excellence in providing the commissioners with legal advice." Vetsch also noted Kryzer's leadership skills, expressing the board's enthusiasm for having him permanently on the Administration Team.
Kryzer himself shared his thoughts on his appointment, acknowledging the uncertainty he initially felt about being considered for the permanent position. "Over the last six months in the interim role, I have been impressed with the level of collaboration we have with our offices and departments, their professionalism and dedication to be public servants," he told Wright County. Kryzer praised his colleagues, many of whom he now collaborates with even more closely, emphasizing their shared goal of providing exemplary service to the residents of Wright County.
Commissioner Jeanne Holland also spoke highly of Kryzer's ability to forge strong relations, not just within the county government but also with external partners. Holland recounted the anticipation among local leaders for Kryzer's official appointment: "Many city administrators, county administrators and business leaders have been asking me over and over again for the last six months when we were going to move forward with Greg as our County Administrator," said Holland. She welcomed the confirmation of his new role, affirming his alignment with the county's ethos and leadership needs.
