Hillsboro's Shute Park will feature a new installation, "Cloud Nest," a geodesic art dome, in fall 2025. Local artist Becky Borlan is inviting the community to provide input on favorite local and native plants to inspire the design, according to the City of Hillsboro.
Drop-in workshops are scheduled for residents to engage in hands-on activities. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss plants and flowers. The workshops are free and open to all ages and interests, with each art-based activity lasting about 15-20 minutes. Participants can take their creations home, as reported by the City of Hillsboro.
The "Cloud Nest" installation in Shute Park will feature local flora to connect the artwork to the natural beauty of Hillsboro. The upcoming workshops allow community members to help shape the design of "Cloud Nest" and participate in the art-making process, as stated by the City of Hillsboro.
