In a verdict that brought a somber conclusion to a chilling case, Hollywood producer David Pearce has been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2021 drug-related deaths of Christy Giles and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola. According to a statement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Pearce faces 148 years to life in prison for his crimes.
Additionally, Pearce was found guilty of a series of sexual assaults against seven other women spanning from 2007 to 2021. This disturbing pattern of behavior included charges of forcible rape and sodomy by use of force. "Today, a serial rapist was held accountable for the deaths of Christy Giles and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, both of whom tragically died as a result of fentanyl poisoning, and the victimization of seven other women across Los Angeles,” District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said, as stated by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. His office pledged to prosecute those who illegally supply fentanyl and those who commit sexual assaults to the fullest extent of the law.
Osborn is expected back in court for a pretrial hearing on the same day as Pearce’s sentencing—March 13. The case, brought to light by the testimonies of seven survivors of Pearce's assaults, was handled by the Sex Crimes Division and meticulously investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
