Residents of the Spring Branch West area in Houston were struck by an unforeseen calamity when an apartment fire broke out on Thursday, causing significant property damage. The blaze, which occurred at 1230 Shadowdale Dr. at approximately 12:08 p.m., fortunately, did not result in any reported injuries, as firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency call.
Quickly making an offensive attack, the firefighters from multiple stations, including Stations 2, 5, 78, 49, 69, 77, 57, and Rescue 10, were dispatched, totaling 35 personnel, as reported in a statement. The fire engulfed one of the apartments, sending smoke and flames visible to the onlookers, before the first responders sprang into action.
An investigation into the cause of the fire pointed to electrical failure as the culprit. Specifically, the fire originated in an exterior electrical box and piping, which then found its way into the attic space of the building. This technical failure led to an estimated $25,000 in damages, as the fire consumed parts of the structure.
