
Houston is under an Extreme Cold Warning as Arctic air brings freezing temperatures and dangerous wind chills. According to FOX 26 Houston, Inland Harris County, Fort Bend, Montgomery, and Waller counties are experiencing wind chills in the single digits to low teens, with "feels like" temperatures in the teens and 20s through Wednesday evening.
Thursday morning's forecast predicts temperatures in the 20s with hazardous wind chills. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for surrounding areas. Despite the cold, the weather is expected to shift by the weekend with showers and storms, though temperatures will remain cool.
The National Weather Service provides the following forecast: Houston will see mostly sunny skies today with a high near 41. Friday will be cloudy with a high near 39, leading to a 50% chance of showers on Saturday with a high near 48. Showers will continue into Sunday, but skies will clear by Monday with a sunny high near 68, and temperatures rising to the upper 70s by Wednesday.
