On Wednesday, Immigration And Customs Enforcement and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrested David Gonzalez-Martinez, 52, in Houston. He has been deported to Mexico three times and has a criminal record. He is now held at Harris County Jail, according to the Immigration And Customs Enforcement.
Gonzalez-Martinez has entered the U.S. without legal authorization at least four times. His record includes convictions for voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault with a weapon, marijuana possession, and illegal re-entry. Immigration And Customs Enforcement has issued a detainer requesting notification before any potential release.
Previously deported in 2001, 2008, and 2015, Gonzalez-Martinez was wanted in Harris County for aggravated assault. He was arrested after re-entering the U.S. unlawfully. His case involves immigration enforcement and criminal law, with an Immigration And Customs Enforcement official stating, "Violent criminal aliens like this individual who violate our nation’s system of laws with impunity are a direct threat to the safety of our communities."
