A violent confrontation in the Murray Hill neighborhood led to an attempted murder charge after a woman was shot in the face at a stop light. Jacksonville authorities detained 38-year-old Latorray Collins following the incident. First Coast News reported that the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrested Collins over the weekend.

According to the victim's ex-boyfriend, in a statement obtained by News4JAX, Collins had been insisting that he come to pick up his belongings from her residence earlier that day. He recounted to officers that instead of complying with Collins' requests, he instructed her to discard his items. He was en route to a restaurant with the victim when Collins reportedly began following their vehicle.

At the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and Post Street, Collins is said to have abruptly blocked the man's car. He managed to evade Collins by reversing and swerving around her vehicle. Despite the evasion, Collins apparently continued her pursuit, leading to the shooting. The victim, identified by family as 42-year-old Latasha Taylor, was shot in the face at the subsequent stoplight, as reported by Action News Jax.

Witnesses described a heated confrontation between Collins and the victims' group preceding the shooting. After an aggressive altercation, a gunshot was heard, and Taylor fell to the ground, injured. Collins now faces an attempted murder charge, her bond set at $250,000. First Coast News confirmed that Taylor was transported to the hospital Saturday night in critical condition.
