Two people were shot early Saturday on the 1200 block of Cesery Boulevard in Jacksonville's Arlington neighborhood, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Officers responded around 1:04 a.m. after receiving reports of the shooting, and the victims were treated for their injuries.
According to First Coast News, JSO Sgt. J. Moore said investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident with no indication it was domestic or gang-related. As News4JAX reports, the victims' current conditions have not been released, and authorities have not said whether the two knew the suspect or whether they are cooperating with the investigation.
Crime scene detectives processed evidence at the scene and recovered several shell casings, per the same account. Investigators have not determined whether nearby homes or businesses were struck by gunfire. Robbery and Violent Crime Unit detectives interviewed witnesses, canvassed the area for surveillance video and are following up on investigative leads, the station's report notes, while the suspect remains unidentified.
Part of a Four-Hour Stretch of Gunfire
The Cesery Boulevard shooting was the third in a string of three separate Jacksonville shootings within a four-hour span overnight, wounding four people total, including a teenager shot in the neck, First Coast News reported. The spree began Friday evening when a teen arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, before officers responded to additional scenes on Jackson Street and then Cesery Boulevard.

A Street With a Violent Recent History
This is not the first time gunfire has erupted on this stretch of Arlington. In November 2025, a car carrying four people was hit by gunfire on Cesery Boulevard following a confrontation on nearby Mills Creek Road, leaving a man in his 20s hospitalized with a leg wound, according to WOKV.
Further back, in February 2024, JSO detectives investigated a fatal shooting on Cesery Boulevard near the Arlington Expressway after a driver was found shot to death inside his vehicle during a weekend spree of early-morning violence, First Coast News reported separately. And in August 2024, two roommates were killed inside a home on Cesery Boulevard; a Duval County jury convicted a man of two counts of first-degree murder in that case in April, according to the State Attorney's Office for the 4th Judicial Circuit.
Homicides Down Citywide, But Non-Fatal Shootings Persist
The overnight violence comes even as Jacksonville's homicide numbers have trended sharply downward. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office open data through early September show the city has recorded 45 total homicides in 2026, putting it on pace for one of its lowest annual totals in years, compared with 96 total homicides in 2025 and 79 in 2024.
Sheriff T.K. Waters has said that despite nearly 100 homicides citywide in 2025, only one was officially classified as gang- or group-affiliated, a trend JSO credits to initiatives like the Group Violence Intervention and RISE programs, per News4JAX. Even so, Arlington has continued to see recurring non-fatal shootings this year, including a May incident on Arlington Road North where a pedestrian was shot in the chest during an argument, and a June brawl at the Regency Inn on Arlington Expressway where a single bullet wounded two men, as previously reported by Hoodline's motel brawl coverage. In December 2025, five people, including a 16-year-old, were wounded during an early morning shootout at a short-term rental house party in the 1200 block of Arlingwood Avenue, also in Arlington.
