
Wilkes Correctional Center has named Jeffrey Duncan as its new warden. With 20 years of experience, he previously served as associate warden at Alexander Correctional Institution, according to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
Duncan began as a correctional officer at Alexander CI in 2004, rising to sergeant in 2007, unit manager in 2013, and associate warden in 2020 before becoming warden at Wilkes Correctional Center. He holds a criminal justice degree from Wilkes Community College and gained additional expertise through the Warden’s Exchange Program, as reported by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
Jeffrey Duncan, a longtime professional in adult corrections and a member of the U.S. Deputy Wardens Association, has been appointed warden of Wilkes Correctional Center. With decades of experience in various roles, he brings extensive knowledge to the position. His leadership will focus on facility operations and rehabilitation efforts for residents, as stated by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction.
