In the latest update on the local dining scene, a Keke's Breakfast Cafe representative confirmed that six of their Central Florida locations have been affected by recent changes, with four undergoing temporary closure and two shuttering permanently. The temporary closures are due to a transition to a new franchisee. In contrast, the permanent closures at 431 S. Chickasaw Trail and 2433 S. Hiawassee Road in Orlando result from severed ties with the previous franchisee, as reported by WFTV.
According to ClickOrlando, following the unexpected shutdown of the two Orlando locations, a company spokesperson stated, "Chickasaw and MetroWest cafes have permanently closed after separating from the franchisee. To minimize impact, affected team members were given the opportunity to apply to nearby Keke’s Breakfast Cafe locations and we are happy to report that nearly all have been placed at other cafes." This came after former employees disclosed to Orlando Business Journal that they were informed of the closure when they arrived for work on December 30 and met by Keke's corporate team representatives.
The four locations undergoing temporary closures await a reopening timeline, which the Orlando-based brand has yet to announce. Those locations include 345 W. Fairbanks Ave in Winter Park, 2209 E. Semoran Blvd in Apopka, 4225 W. Lake Mary Blvd in Lake Mary, and 6526 Old Brick Road in Windermere. A spokesperson for the chain mentioned efforts are underway to encourage all involved parties to complete the necessary transactions swiftly, as reported by ClickOrlando. They aim to ensure these locations can reopen and continue serving their communities.
