Sacramento City Hall is hosting an exhibition titled "Kids Collect," a collaboration between the Center for Sacramento History and Mark Twain Elementary School students. The exhibit includes a variety of personal items and family possessions, offering a glimpse into the lives and heritages of Sacramento’s youth. According to the City of Sacramento, the collection was curated by fifth and sixth-grade students from Tallac Village, with each item reflecting a story of cultural and personal significance.

Christopher Smith, the Center's curator of history, described the objective of the exhibit: "Each item on display tells a story of memory, tradition, and identity, providing insight into the lived experiences of Sacramento’s youth." The exhibit aims to showcase personal stories that contribute to the broader community history, as stated by the City of Sacramento.

The exhibition, supported by Mayor Pro Tem Eric Guerra's office, features the work of students and is presented with contributions from Principal Dominic Campos, along with teachers Jason Hartin and Christine Plumb-Hanifen. The exhibition is open to the public at no cost at the Robert T. Matsui Gallery in Sacramento City Hall, 915 I Street, and will be on display until April 30. Visitors can view the exhibit Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., as reported by the City of Sacramento.
