A Lake Elsinore man has been arrested under suspicion of illegally selling marijuana vape pens to minors. Saul Perez, 21, was detained after an investigation by the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team. The inquiry began following a December 2024 call to authorities concerning the sale of marijuana vapes to underage individuals.
In a calculated move to swiftly address the situation, deputies executed a traffic stop on Perez's vehicle last Thursday, at around 1:00 p.m. A subsequent search warrant served at Perez's residence resulted in the seizure of large quantities of contraband. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reported finding 261 nicotine and marijuana vape products, nearly half a pound of marijuana, two digital scales, and $5,050 in cash.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Perez was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center. He faces charges including selling marijuana to a minor, selling tobacco products to those under 21, possession of marijuana for sale, and operating without a marijuana sales license.
The authorities have emphasized their dedication to safeguarding young people from illegal substances. "Alleged crimes of introducing harmful contraband to our younger generation will be investigated immediately, and swift action will be taken," the Sheriff’s Office stated. They encourage anyone with additional information to reach out to Deputy Pohlman at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station.
Community members with details that might assist the ongoing investigation are urged to contact Deputy Pohlman at 951–245–3300 for further deliberation. With the arrest of Perez, the authorities hope to send a clear message about their intolerance for the unlawful distribution of controlled substances, especially to minors within the community.
