Spelling bees may seem quaint to some, but for Sree Vidya Siliveri, an 8th grader at Landrum Middle School, they are the terrain of triumph. For the third consecutive year, Siliveri has clinched the title of the St. Johns County School District Spelling Bee champion, a feat recognized and honored at a recent school board meeting. The St. Johns County School District took to social media to laud her achievement, stating, "Congratulations to Sree Vidya Siliveri, an 8th grader at Landrum Middle School, for winning the SJCSD Spelling Bee—for the third year in a row!"
Alongside this academic feat, the district also celebrated other noteworthy accomplishments. The post extended a shoutout to the SJCSD Fall State Champions, praising their dedication and achievements, which continue to inspire the school community. Although academics took a center spotlight, athletics were not left behind in these accolades, as student-athletes bask in the recognition of their hard-earned victories, setting a standard for what excellence in school sports can look like.
The celebration didn't end with students; rookie teachers were also in the mix. The 2025 Rookie Teachers of the Year were cheered for their passion and commitment to their students, an appreciation the district shares for educators at the dawn of their careers. They represent the fresh energy and innovative approaches that come with new faces in teaching, a boon to any educational environment. These professionals, within their first three years on the job, have already made a significant impact on the lives of their students and the quality of education in the district.
A poignant moment of the evening was the honoring of the retirees, for whom the district extended their deepest gratitude. "Honoring our Retirees—We extend our deepest gratitude to our retiring employees for their years of service and dedication to our schools, students, and community," the St. Johns County School District post read.
