Residents of Lewisville have a chance to spruce up their homes and communities with help from a series of workshops aimed at informing them about available grant opportunities. According to an announcement made by Lewisville Neighborhood Services, the free workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 6:30 p.m., at the Lewisville Public Library, providing details on programs like the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, as per the City of Lewisville.

The workshop intends to help residents easily navigate the grant process, offering instruction on applications and insights into additional countywide resources. The Property Enhancement Program offers a financial grant rebate for exterior home repairs, with eligible projects possibly receiving a 50 percent matching grant, up to a certain dollar amount. In contrast, the Love Your Block grant provides a $500 reimbursable mini-grant to foster community within neighborhoods for activities like organizing gatherings, cleaning up vacant lots, or planting communal green spaces. Applications for this grant are accepted year-round.

Moreover, neighborhood groups looking to beautify their areas might find the Neighborhood Enhancement Program particularly beneficial, as it offers a matching grant of up to $12,500 for projects such as improving parks, building entryway features, or forming a neighborhood emergency response team.

To ensure all citizens have the chance to benefit, Lewisville Neighborhood Services has planned additional monthly workshops throughout 2025, every other Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Locations will rotate, allowing wider access across the community. Notably, Lewisville is also extending its outreach with workshop opportunities that will exclusively be to serve East Lewisville/Castle Hills community members at the Queen Margaret Community Center and sessions at Serve Lewisville presented in Spanish and Chin. Specific dates for these additional workshops are to be announced later. The diligent planning indicates the city's committed strategy to uplift all neighborhoods through accessible information and resources.
