The agreements, announced by Landry, enable the involved states to access each others' voter lists with the goal of updating and maintaining more accurate records. "I am thankful to Secretary Nelson of Texas, Secretary Watson of Mississippi, former Secretary Thurston and current Secretary Jester of Arkansas for working with our office to help keep our voter list accurate and up-to-date," Landry said in a statement on the Louisiana Department of State website. She emphasizes the commitment her office has to upholding "election integrity" as her highest priority. This series of agreements follow a similar one made with Alabama in July 2024, signaling a growing trend in collaborative voter list management.
