In a significant drug bust by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department, over 50 pounds of methamphetamine were seized in Olivehurst. On Thursday, the Sheriff's Problem Oriented Police (POP) team, alongside their Drug Detection K9 named "Ghost," executed a search warrant that culminated in the discovery of this substantial narcotics cache and led to multiple arrests.
An official post from the Yuba County Sheriff's Department detailed the raid, revealing that 52-year-old Kenneth Terrell of Sacramento, was taken into custody without a struggle. During the search of a residence on the 4300 block of Martel Drive, approximately 55 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, items consistent with narcotic sales, and an illegal firearm were found, as per the information disclosed by Yuba County officials. Residents Julian Ramus and Theresa Iakopo, both 55 and 57 years of age respectively, were also present at the scene and are now facing drug and firearm-related charges.
According to the Facebook post from the Yuba County Sheriff's Department, all detained individuals were booked into the Yuba County Jail following the raid. The post did not specify the levels of distribution allegedly managed by the suspects in the county, but the quantity of drugs seized indicates a large-scale operation.
The operation resulted in a significant narcotics seizure in Yuba County, disrupting drug distribution in the area. The Yuba County Sheriff's Department's POP team continues to lead efforts to dismantle drug networks and prevent the spread of illegal substances.
