The Bronx has witnessed another violent incident with a 20-year-old man shot outside a deli at 963 Teller Ave., in the Concourse Village area. As reported by ABC7 New York yesterday, the shooting took place around 5:50 p.m., with NYPD responding to a call of a man shot. They found the victim with a bullet wound to the abdomen and transported him to Lincoln Hospital, where he is expected to recover.
Details on the perpetrator were scarce, but police have described him as a male wearing a black top, and light-colored pants. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on a moped, with no update provided yet on the motive or the lead-up to this unfortunate event.
Meanwhile, another account of the same incident from AMNY adds that the young man was standing outside the deli when shot by the unidentified suspect. The victim was later transferred to Saint Barnabas Hospital instead of Lincoln Hospital as previously reported, authorities clarified no suspect description has been provided in this account.
This marks the second shooting in the vicinity of a Bronx bodega this week, with a 56-year-old man fatally shot on Monday. Unlike the recent case where the investigators are still searching for the suspect, two arrests were made concerning the previous murder. As the police continue their investigation into the most recent shooting, the community remains on edge, with concern for public safety growing. Holders of any relevant information are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers, with the assurance that all communication will be confidential.
